After downloading Recuva, double click on setup and install it. When installation is finished go to Start > All Programs > Recuva and open it. After click on Recuva icon from the start menu, the Recuva Wizard dialogue box will open. 

Now click on Next button.

Next you will appear choosing the File Type section in the Recuva Wizard dialogue box. In this section you can choose file types you want to search for recover. After selecting a File type click on Next button to go next step.

In next step you can see an another section named File Location. So you can choose the location for search deleted data. If you want to recover data from another drive, under the In a specific location option click on Browse and choose your drive. After choosing the location for search click Next.

After that you will see the last step of this wizard. Now you can click Start button to search deleted data. If you want to search data, that you deleted nearly select Enable Deep Scan option and click Start button. And now Recuva will starts to scan your drives.

At the end of the scan you can see deleted files that can be recover. Now select the check boxes of the files you want recover and click the Recover button. When you clicked on the Recover button Browse for folder dialogue box will open. So you can choose the location for save selected file and click Ok to save it.

You can visit the Advanced Mode of this software by click on Switch to advanced mode button in the Piriform Recuva window. You can give more details to recover files from using this utility.

To recover data using this utility, click on the first drop down menu and select  the drive for scan. The great feature of this utility is, we can give file extensions for recover files.

If you want to give more than one extension, you have to use this symbol ( | ) to separate them.

(example :- .exe|.dat|.bmp|.jpg )
